The Mobile Entertainment Forum (MEF) installed seven members to its Americas executive board. Entriq's Ralph Simon was elected to head the Americas board as MEF-Americas chair. Moderati's Carolynne Schloeder and EMI Recorded Music's Ted Cohen were named MEF-Americas co-vice chairs. Other board appointments include American Greetings Mobile's Bryan Biniak, Qualcomm's Michael Boyd, Warner Music Group's Kevin Gage and Qpass' Eric Harber.
The Mobile Entertainment Forum, which was established in Europe in 2001, set up a U.S. branch in Los Angeles in 2002. The MEF's contributions to the mobile entertainment sector include the introduction of an official ringtone chart, the establishment of an industry-wide Code of Conduct for mobile subscription services and representation of the industry view on the MPEG LA licensing proposal.
